On Friday, all of the Foundation students had a lovely trip to Edendale Farm in Eltham. It was very exciting to ride on the bus and we sang bus songs all the way! We were lucky to have beautiful weather and were able to picnic in the sunshine.
We dug for bugs, held wiggly worms on the palms of our hands, planted seeds, visited farm animals, fed the chickens, explored the vegie patch and decorated calico bags by hammering the colourful juice out of flowers and leaves. The day was topped off by a big play on the amazing undercover playground just outside the farm. We learned so much about plants, animals and insects. Thank you to all the mums who came along to help us, we really appreciated it! Monday 16th May, 2016
Just a reminder that this coming Monday 16th May is a Student-Free day at Templestowe Park Primary School. No students are required to attend. As part of our Education Week celebrations we will hold a number of Open Days and Nights so you can experience the exciting learning programs that your child participates in everyday. There will be three different events and they all have a slightly different focus.
• Saturday, 14th May 9:30am – 12:00pm: An opportunity for prospective parents and families to learn about what Templestowe Park has to offer. Current families are also welcome to come for a look around the school on this day. • Tuesday, 17th May 9:30 – 10:30am: We invite you into the classrooms while our students are at work to learn about how we teach and the challenging learning activities in which our students participate. • Wednesday, 18th May 6:00 – 8:00pm: Take a look in your child’s classroom and experience STEM learning across the school. Our Science Talent Search Expo will be open, along with many other different activities in all classrooms. Our Foundation students are budding environmentalists! In preparation for our excursion next week to Edendale Farm, we have been learning about the best way to get rid of our rubbish. Now every year level has a compost bin and recycling bins for plastics and paper. We had a great conversation about what to put in each bin. Next week we will be focussing on the letters Rr and Xx. Tricky X says "ks" at the end of words. |
