Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you so much to everyone who has kindly volunteered to assist us with reading or PMP this term. We really appreciate your help. It is very important if you cannot attend your allocated time to help, to organise another parent to swap or fill in for you, because some lessons require parental assistance to run smoothly.
Thank you for your understanding. YAy! The tea towels have arrived at school. Today your child will bring home their tea towel. Please check to make sure you have the correct amount. If you would like to order some more please see Miss Sunderland as she has a few spare which are $15.
We would like to thank you for your support with the fundraiser. We are currently making some decisions and are hoping to have the deck set up as an outdoor learning space for iTime VERY soon. Please watch this space as to when the outdoor learning area will be open and ready to use, as we would love for you to come and see it. Happy dish drying with your new tea towel! Regards, Prep team FOUNDATION AND GRADE 5 BUDDY PROGRAM The Preps along with their buddies are participating in the Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart program and we would love your support! Over the next few weeks, your child will be learning a range of fun skipping skills and new tricks. This is a great program and encourages children to get involved in our community and support Australia’s leading heart health charity, the Heart Foundation. The Jump Rope team provides us with lots of resources and support to implement the program and in return we ask that students help by seeking sponsorship for their involvement. Please support us by sponsoring your child. Click on the link below to register and to begin fundraising. https://jumprope.everydayhero.do/jumprope2017/Templestowe_Park_Primary_School_TEMPLESTOWE_VIC_130524 At the end of the term, we will be holding a 'Skip Off', so please encourage your child to practise skipping at home if they own a skipping rope. This will be held on Thursday 21st September. Thank you in advance for your support. REMINDER: Next Friday is our 100th Day of School! This weekend would be a great time to work out a dress-up outfit and find a collection of 100 little things to put in your zip-lock bag.
Our sport teacher, Mr Kitney requires all students to wear their sports uniform on the day they do sport. With the commencement of PMP this term, it is vital the correct uniform is worn to comfortably complete all activities. Socks and shoes are removed during PMP lessons and it gets very tricky when girls are wearing school dresses and stockings.
We have lots of budding sportspeople in Foundation, who are loving all the wide open spaces on the oval at the moment. This can lead to wet socks and shoes, which becomes uncomfortable to stay in all day. If you know your child loves to jump in puddles at playtime, perhaps consider popping a spare pair of shoes and socks into the bottom of their bag. Thank you!
On Friday we had a visit from some lovely volunteers from the Melbourne Fruit and Vegetable Market. Thanks to the mums who spent so much time chopping fresh fruit and vegies for us. We were (mostly) all very adventurous about tasting all the food on offer, even if we didn't think we would like it. We tasted apples, pears, bananas, blood oranges, capsicums, celery, tomato and avocado dip. The ladies taught us all about how the food gets from the farm to our shops, and showed us some interesting photos of the huge market where the supermarket buys their food from. We talked about how food can make us healthy. Ask your child if they remember how to store apples and tomatoes, and how they know if something is a fruit or not!
